Eight ball pool, one of the most loved billiards games worldwide, is also known as eight ball pool. It can be played by either one player or two. The objective is to pocket all balls in a given group. Although eight ball pool might seem simple, it is not difficult to master. It is also important to understand the rules and perform the appropriate shots.
There are many variations on eight-ball pool. However, the basic game is the exact same. Players use a "8-ball" black cue to put the eight balls into the pockets. The winner of the game is the one who has the 8-ball in his pocket. A scratch on a hit, or a re-spotted 8-ball, gives the opponent the "ball in the hand" and the possibility to win. The game is over if the 8-ball is not sunk by the last ball.
The game is known by many names including snooker, pounce and eight-ball. It's a game of judgement and finesse. You don't have to hit harder than your opponent. But it is possible win by playing more aggressively.

A black "8-ball" is used, along with sixteen object ball: 15 solids and 1 striped. The solids are divided into nine numbered balls (the "mimic" or apex ball at the front of a triangle) and one numbered "cue ball." The cue ball, which is black, does not have to be sunk before the eighth ball.
The eight ball is a good example of the physics involved in the game. The eight-ball is placed in the rack at the apex a triangle-shaped pyramid. The cue ball must be placed to the right of the Baulk line in order to shoot it.
For the most part, eight ball pool is a cinch to play. But it takes skill and finesse to hit the cue ball correctly, so it is recommended that you practice it at a friend's house or at a local pool hall. Once you have learned the basics, you can expand your repertoire by learning other variations.
It is important that you remember that eight ball pool rules differ from one country and another when playing. Although the most important rule in eight ball pool is to not knock the balls off the table, there's a few other rules that are similar to different countries. Some countries demand that you use the same solids or stripes across the rack. Others are more flexible. No matter what your preferred play style, eight-ball pools is an enjoyable, fast-paced, and fun game that will help you to demonstrate your knowledge of geometry.

During the break you can shoot the eightball or any other numbered ball in the rack. The break is legal provided the cue ball does NOT go down in an illegal pocket.
