Having a good stun shot in pool is a skill you need to master. It can make all the difference in winning or losing. There are many kinds of shots. Each has its own rules. But you cannot just hit the ball. Instead, you will need to hit it hard. The better you hit it, it will likely pocket.
A stun shot requires a strong hit. In straight pool games, this means that the cueball must travel straight in and not divert from its intended course. This is often achieved by putting a jack up, or elevating the butt end of the cue.
A "break", also known as a shot, is one made at the last OOB of a straight swimming pool game. There are many different types and types of break shots. Some are for getting out of trouble while others make it easier to score. One such is the golden break, or the golden pocket.
Another is the break-out shot, or break-out. This type shot is great for quick shots when the ball cluster has moved out of line. If your shot is good, it may cause your opponent to be shaken up and put in a bad place. A good hit often results in an OB that remains on the table, making the job harder.

A "break" isn't the only way to win. The following are other ways you can achieve the same result:
Grade "A" shot is one that is highly likely to succeed. An example: A hit that is good will first strike the OB, and then a second hit may be able to pocket the OB.
Fancy shot: This rare skill requires a lot of practice as well as a prop. Typically, this involves a very short and punchy stroke, called a "J" stroke. A "J", unlike a normal jab stroke, is curved and acts like a pendulum. Similarly, a "jelly roll" is a roll of the cue ball that is especially beneficial for the shooter.
Fancy-looking - Another name for fancy-looking shots is a flight. Flight is a fancy-looking shot. It is not necessarily the best, but it is certainly the most impressive. A flight is normally a low percentage shot like a top/bottom spin and a flyer.
Stun shot. Although not as glamorous as other types shot, a good stun shot is vital. It is a good idea having it handy. It could be a way for your opponent to win.

Other common names for a stun shot are the grade "B" shot, the jelly roll, and the nip draw. But which is the best?
A pool nip is a good idea. This keeps the CB's from jumping off the table. A nip strike is more complex because the follow-through is minimal.
