The ability to make a good shot at pool is an important skill. It can mean the difference between winning and falling. There are many types of shots. Each one has its own rules. You can't just hit the ball, though. Instead, you'll need to hit it hard. The more you hit it, the better the chance it will pocket.
A stun shot is a shot that requires a strong hit. In a straight pool game, this means the cue ball has to travel straight in, and not veer off course. This can often be accomplished by raising the butt of the cue, or putting it up.
A "break" shot is one that is taken at the last OB in a straight-pool game. There are several types of break shots. Some are used to get out of trouble, while others are designed to make it easier to score. One such is the golden break, or the golden pocket.
Another is the break-out shot, or break-out. This type shot is great for quick shots when the ball cluster has moved out of line. If your shot is good, it may cause your opponent to be shaken up and put in a bad place. A good hit often results in an OB that remains on the table, making the job harder.

However, a "break" is not the only way to score a win. Other ways to do the same thing include the following:
Grade "A" shot is one that is highly likely to succeed. For example, a good hit will strike an OB first, followed by a second hit that can pocket the OB.
Fancy shot: This skill is rare and requires a lot practice. This requires a fast, precise stroke, known as a J stroke. Contrary to a jab stroke a "J” stroke is curved much like a pendulum. A "jelly roll", which is similar to a jab stroke, is a cue ball roll that is particularly beneficial for the shooter.
Fancy-looking: A fancy-looking shot can also be called a "flight". Flight is a fancy shot that looks impressive but is not always the most accurate. A flight is usually a low-percentage shot such as a top/bottom spin, or a flyer.
Stun shot: Although it may not be as glamorous or as popular as other types, a stun shot is very important. It's a good idea if you have it. Your opponent could easily win the game.

A stun shot can also be called the jelly roll or grade "B" shot. But which is the most important one?
In the pool world, a nip draw is a good idea because it keeps the CB from hopping off the table. A nip stroke is more complex, since the follow-through can be minimal.
