Ding Junhui, also known by Enter the Dragon is one the most successful snooker players worldwide. He has won 14 major tournaments over his career. He also reached the finals of the World Championship twice. In fact, he is the most successful Asian player ever.

Chinese pro-snooker player, Liu Zhiyuan, was introduced to the sport by his father, who was an avid snooker fan. He went to the Shanghai national snooker team as a child and has been a major success in the home country.

Ding became the youngest player to ever make a live televised 147 break in 2007 Ding won the IBSF World Under-21 Championship the following year. This was his first professional title and he was ranked as a world number nine at the end of the 2006-07 season.

During his career, Ding has won a total of fourteen major ranking titles. He is also the three-time UK Champion. Ding has more than 500 century break records throughout his career, having started playing professionally when he was sixteen. Ding's recent absences have had a negative effect on his match sharpness. Ding is a popular Chinese social media user.

At age 18, Ding reached the final of the China Open and then became the first player from outside Great Britain and Ireland to win a ranking title. He also won his first all-Asian final against Marco Fu.

Ding has lost his position as the world's number one snooker players despite the success of his home nation. His career has seen a decline over the past six year. He is currently ranked ninth around the globe. And he has not played in a big money ranking event since 2017.


But the 34-yearold has a strong record. He has won over $5 million in major tournaments. He won five ranking event tournaments during 2013-14, and reached the semifinals the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix. He was defeated in the quarter finals by Shaun Murphy, Barry Hawkins, and Shaun Murphy.

During the 2019 season, he has won ten matches and compiled ten century breaks. Ding also reached the semifinals at the Ladbrokes Players Tour Championship. Therefore, it is probable that Ding will return to January's World Championship.

He also beat the world's top 16 players. He defeated Joe Perry (Mark Williams), James Cahill (James Cahill), and Thepchaiya U-Nooh. Moreover, he made seven centuries in the semi-finals of the Shangai Masters.

At the age of 18 he won the Chinese National Championship. This made him the youngest player in the World to have six maximum breaks. After that, his ranking increased by seven spots to become the ninth-best snooker player in the world.
