Three cushion billiards can be described as a game of billiards played on a table measuring five by ten feet. The object of the game, as the name suggests, is to get the cue ball to contact three rails before it reaches the second object ball. One point is awarded for each successful carom. If the shooter does not pocket any object balls, the opponent will not be awarded a point. The frame is won by the player with the most objects.

Three cushion billiards can be played on a table that is larger than the regular pool table. The cue ball and the red ball are placed at one end of each table. To line up the shot, players use silver dots placed on the table. This requires accurate calculation of angles and distances. Once the shot is done, the object balls is taken out of the bag.

Three cushion billiards can be described as an evolved form straight rail billiards. It is thought to have been invented in 1870, but Wayman Crow McCreery popularized the idea. McCreery was an IRS Collector from Port Saint Louis. McCreery invented the game after he enjoyed it. Three-cushion billiards became a favourite of many players during the 1950s.

If a shot is taken in three cushion pool billiards, it is the objective of the player to make the object balls contact the rails three times before they touch the cue. This can be done in any order, but in most cases, the objective is to hit both cushions.

Before hitting the object ball the shooter must call the bank shot. There are a variety of systems that can be used for this shot. However, the most common bank shot of all is the single rail shot.

A 3-rail shot can be another type of bank shot. Many different methods can be used, such as the Magic Spot. It is when the ball hits one corner of the table's rail and the cushion the other. Another option is a multi-rail bank shot, or a distant point.

In order to shoot a bank shot, the object must first hit the cushion. There are exceptions. The object ball can be hit before it bounces on a rail, or after it has been cushioned. For example, if you take a single shot from the rail bank, the object balls would bounce off the rail to get into the pocket.

The rules of this game are based on the Standard World rules. To pocket any object balls, however, the bank shot may be used by the player. The shooter may continue to the next inning after the object ball has been taken.

If the object is not kept in the designated spot, the inning is over. Any fouls or illegal breaks are also noted in italics. The opponent can also take their turn.

Bank shot is the primary method of pocketing objects in the game of pool. Unlike in nine-ball or eight-ball, the object of Bank Pool is to outscore the opponent(s) in pocketing the balls by using bank shots.
