
Cleaning your pool table every day is key to keeping it in tip-top shape. This will keep your table in tip-top shape and make it more enjoyable to play on. This is best done with a brush.
The local billiards supply stores will sell brushes made specifically for cleaning felt pools tables. These are gentle on the felt and will also remove dust and lint. If you don’t have the funds to buy a special brush, you can use your regular household one. However, be cautious as too many strong strokes could cause damage to the surface.
A steamer can also be used to clean your pool table's surfaces. Although steamers are helpful in removing stain from the felt they can also be used to set them. You can also use equal parts water and white vinegar to remove stains. Be sure to let the stain dry before you begin to play with it.
Regular felt is stronger than pool table felt so be careful not to ruin it. A typical recreational player should clean their tables no less than once a week. For serious players, it is recommended to clean your tables more often.

Next, clean the pockets after you have removed the stains. It is a good idea that you vacuum the pockets, rails and felt before you get started. A damp cloth, a soft fabric, and a vacuum tool are all you need to clean them.
Use a soft, lint-free towel to clean up any stains. Avoid using paper towels. These can trap fibers that could be left on your felt.
You can also purchase a spray-on product that will better remove stains. Some of these products are available at your local department store or online. They can be substituted for products found in your billiards supplies store.
After applying the cleaning solution to your felt, you can wipe it off with a damp, clean cloth. Don't rub the stains, however. Light strokes are best to ensure that the felt doesn’t get stretched.
The felt should be allowed to air dry on the pool table. Avoid drinking or smoking near the pool table. Chalk marks should not be left on the table.

After you have cleaned the table you can place the cues on the cue rack. These cues should not be kept in high temperatures or where they can become rotted by moisture.
Lastly, you'll need to clean the balls. This is a common practice, but you should be very careful. Many home-based cleaners are designed to remove grime. This can cause felt damage. The felt can be protected by using a special cleaner.
