Rotation Pool is a game of billiards that uses a standard pool table and a cueball. In that each player can pick the lowest-numbered ball on the table, Rotation Pool is very similar to ten-ball or nine-ball. These rules are in addition to those of the General Rules of Pocket Billiards.
Rotation pool rules are based upon the point system. This means that the player with the most points wins. Point schedule determines the numerical numbers of the pool ball balls. These numbers can range anywhere from 1 to 15. Other handicapping systems may also be available to players. For example, players who pocket a lower value ball can only pocket a higher value ball on the same shot. This allows different players to have different point totals.

Rotation Pool is played on a billiards rack that is a triangle in shape. The lower value balls are generally pocketed first while the higher values are held on the same table. The balls are then randomly placed on a rack. The rack's upper two-thirds contain "money balls," which are designated with dollar amounts.
Rotation pool is mostly used as a gambling game. Points are awarded to the player who pockets the most balls in varying degrees. The rules of the game may allow the highest score to earn a share in the game kitty. This is often at stake. There are many tournaments, leagues and competitions to play in the rotation pool. Most tournaments are divided into multiple rounds. The top three finishers advance on to the next round. Alternatively, they can be played in a single elimination bracket.
There are many different types of rotation pools, but the most well-known is a tenball pool. In this game, the player must pocket the eight ball legally. A player cannot take the eight balls if he or she fails to do so. However, the player who takes the eighth ball is considered to have made it. After that, the player receives a ball to play the first shot after the break.
Unlike most games of pool, rotation pool requires a player to hit the lowest numbered ball on the table first. All other balls are still out of play, and the player who pockets the last ball must make the shot. Additionally, fouls must also be called before the next shot. Faults can include removing an object ball from the table, failing legally to pocket it, and failing to contact a number with the cueball. Fouls are classified according to how often they are committed. The player who commits three fouls in a row is removed from the game.

Rotation Pool can also be played with up four people. Typically, it is played in a league with teams of players, and league organizers can pay a franchise fee for the right to organize and promote the sport.
